About
Why have therapy with me?
The way I work is by tailoring therapy to suit you. We work together looking at what's preventing you living the life you want to lead and what you need to get there. That might be offering a place where you need to unravel some feelings as you feel confused or hurt by them, or you need some more practical solutions which we can explore.

I have grown up in a family that works in mental health and I have seen for over 30 years the transformation that counselling can have on us. I'm privileged to have been in private practice for several years and due to its success I'm able to do this work full time. What this means for you is I have extensive experience working with all sorts of people who all have different stories. I've watched anxiety fade, painful memories be resolved, finding new life after loss, regaining confidence and more self awareness. Like I said its a privilege that people share their stories with me.

My background..
I developed an interest in psychology through a fascination of human behaviour and I went on to do my degree as a mature student. My dissertation was on relationships, how they impact us and the importance for us to feel connected to other people. After this, I trained in therapeutic counselling which looked at different approaches such as person centred counselling, cognitive behaviour therapy, mindfulness and working creatively. During my course I volunteered with CRUSE bereavement care where I encountered many people who came with not just a bereavement and loss but many other issues and this sparked my interest in working with people experiencing anxiety.

Professional Membership and experience
Due to the variety of work that I do I belong to different organisations The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), National Counselling Society (NCS) and The British Psychological Society (BPS) all of which have their own strict code of conduct.

As a registered member of the BACP I abide by their ethical framework for working with people safely and professionally. I have regular supervision to make sure I am working using best practice and engage in regular training to ensure my skills are up to date.
Qualifications / Training Courses / Experience
I have experience working with solution focussed therapy or longer term work through insurance companies, national charities and employee assistance programmes. In addition I've completed psychology assessments using various psychometric assessments and made recommendations within NICE guidelines. Please contact me if I can be of assistance.
