Frequently Asked Questions

Questions

What are your fees?

My fee is £55 per 50 minutes, payment is weekly 48 hours in advance of the session or 48 hours after booking the initial appointment.

What are your working hours?

I work Monday-Wednesday daytime, Monday and Tuesday evening and Saturday morning.

How do I book an appointment and how long do I have to wait?

If you email me, we can organise a free no obligation call so you can ask me any questions you have and find out a little bit more about me. If after that you would like to book a session, we'll find a mutually convenient time to meet / speak, typically this will be within the week.

How many sessions will I need?

That depends on you, we can work to a fixed number of sessions or be more open ended as with many aspects of counselling we can review and change this if you wish.

What happens in the first session?

Our first session is an opportunity for us to discuss what has brought you to counselling and what you would like to get from it. I’ll also go into some detail about how I work so you fully understand the process.

How accessible are your premises?

I have off road parking and my office is on the ground floor. If you have any concerns about accessibility please contact me to discuss your requirements. In certain circumstances I can organise a home visit for the first session so you can meet me and then we can move to remote working.

How do online sessions work?

Due to the pandemic, there has been a large shift to online therapy. All you need is a quiet, confidential, and comfortable place you can talk to me on your phone, tablet or computer. If you are unsure about the technical aspects, we can organise a practice run to make sure it’s all working as it should for our session.

Where are your testimonials?

Using testimonials is a very personal decision and I chose not to use them. I may at times use testimonials from colleagues but not clients. If you would like to know more, please feel free to ask me about this.

Do you work internationally?

Yes, but as a UK based counsellor I am subject to UK legislation not the country you would be based in. If you are living abroad, please contact me to discuss further.
